Who We Are
Takespice is a fulfillment of an idea that originated from a casual chat. It was a discussion about the increase noted recently about more and more people turning to natural foods. The realization that how commercially produced processed food products was harming not only us, but also the environment and surrounding flora and fauna was astounding. An unplanned visit to a friend’s farm on a beautiful hillside on the Western Ghats was the catalyst that drove the idea ahead, which resulted in Takespice.
What Makes Our Spices Special?
Our products are not irradiated. We use recommended pesticides prescribed from Spices Board only. We also use natural compost and manures and the rest is taken care of by the nature. This not only helps retain and improve the inherent nutritional value of the spices and other crops but also helps with environmental conservation.
The Road Ahead
With Takespice, we have taken the first step towards growing and selling safe and natural food. In the future, our goal is to expand the product line to herbs, pulses, food grains, etc. Farming practices, small or big, need to be sustainable; otherwise, it will lead to the degradation of natural soil nutrients, insects and the surrounding environment. Helping people to make the right food choices and ensuring the easy availability of those products is something we aspire for.
